The Diverse Europe at Work project builds on the success of the original European Intercultural Workplace Project (2004-2007) which brought together partners in 10 European countries to investigate challenges posed by an increasingly intercultural work environment. Funded by the EU Leonardo da Vinci Programme II, the project was intended to highlight key issues for managers, employees and customers from host and immigrant cultures in public, private and education sectors.

The initial project produced:

  • National Reports, providing an overview of the current situation in each partner country affecting the intercultural work environment, and including: (a) A National Situational Analysis, and (b) Case Studies.
  • Sector-Specific Booklets, providing trans-national analyses of workplace issues identified across the partnership countries, illustrated with concrete examples from case studies. The sectors covered are Healthcare, Education and SMEs.
  • Training Materials set consisting of a printed Training Manual and a DVD. The training package is known as EUROPE AT WORK: Diversity in the European Workplace.
  • European Database with information on intercultural workplace issues relating to partner countries and sectors, project reports and articles relevant to the European Intercultural Workplace contributed by project members.
  • Overview of Legislation booklet.
